About Terri Flores Lopez

Terri Flores Lopez is a retired School Principal, born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. She is a product of the San Antonio Independent School District, attending Fenwick Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School, and Thomas Jefferson High School. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio, a Master of Science In Educational Administration from Texas A&M Kingsville followed by a State Board of Education Teaching Certificate.

She became an elementary and middle school teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District. Her teaching experiences range from Pre-K through 12th grade.  In 2008, she transferred to NEISD to work as an Assistant Principal at Regency Place Elementary School. She would eventually return to San Antonio ISD where she would retire as a Principal in the school district that not only fostered her formative years but also her career as an educator. During her career, Terri served in various capacities including the Bilingual program, the Gifted & Talented program, and the Dyslexia program.

Terri credits her love of community and service to her parents Jesse & Rosa Flores. They fostered a spirit of independence and an emphasis on education. Terrri’s Father, Mr. Flores worked at Kelly Air Force as a Sheet Metal Worker and served overseas in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII.  Terri's mother, Mrs. Flores, lost her own mother to tuberculosis when she was 11 years old, leaving her an orphan.  As a child, Terri's mother worked alongside her Grandmother as a migrant worker picking cotton.

After retiring from a life in education Terri has dedicated herself to helping elect Democrats of strong moral character. She has volunteered for candidates such as San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Councilman John Courage, Julian and Joaquin Castro, Beto O’Rourke, Chairwoman Monica Ramirez Alcántara, and most recently, the Colin Allred campaign. She became a Precinct chair in 2016 and volunteered countless hours for the Hillary for President campaign.

In October 2020, she took a short break from politics to focus on her battle with breast cancer. After winning her fight with breast cancer she resumed her service to the Bexar County Democratic Party as a dedicated volunteer in the office, phone banking, assisting with office duties, dressing polls, and coordinating poll greeters for our high propensity voting sites. Block-walking is her favorite form of activism because it allows her to engage with the community and make meaningful connections with the voters. She has also served as an Election Clerk and as Deputy Voter Registrar.  Terri continues to serve as Precinct Chair of 3173.

Terri and her husband David have a beautifully blended family with five adult children: Zachary, Natasha, Nikolai, DJ & David.. They also share five grandchildren who are the light and joy of the Flores Lopez Family.
